G2: Get the Log Out

In this session, we look at the second of four practical principles of peacemaking—Get the Log Out. In conflict, we naturally focus on the other person and rarely consider our own contribution. So the practical outworking of glorifying God (G1) in conflict begins with examining self (G2) rather than the other person. After asking, “How can I glorify God in this situation,” we must ask, “How can I own my part in this conflict?” Bringing glory to God in conflict starts with practical humility, self-examination, and personal repentance of all sinful contributions to the conflict. To aid application, this lesson offers practical directions and examples for self-examination and repentance.
