The Just God

How can a person be right with God? How can the guilty be forgiven? How can a sinner be saved from just punishment? These are the arresting thoughts of a conscience attuned to reality. These were the thoughts that dominated Martin Luther. His agonizing fear of just punishment for his sins by an uncompromisingly righteous God served to magnify the unspeakable delight of the gospel that he came to understand through the Scriptures. This session focuses primarily on the agony of Luther that stemmed from the medieval corruptions of the gospel.
