Loved to Glory

Life in Christ

God’s love is no mere ingredient in the achievement and assurance of a sinner’s salvation. Love is salvation’s life and soul—its ground and goal. God’s love is the final link in the chain of Paul’s argument concerning the guarantee of glory for all who are justified in Christ through faith alone. Arguing from the greater to the lessor, Paul demands that we see there is yet more—much more—still to come. And it is God’s love, above all, that assures us that we will yet receive it. The justified are already but not yet saved. They have a sure and certain future because they are loved by God. His love will carry them to glory and cause them to glory in Him along the way and forevermore.
