CloseHow can a sinner be right with God? How can the guilty be forgiven? How can the rebel be reconciled? How can the helpless have hope? How can the outcast draw near? These are the agonies of a sin-sensitive soul; the fears of inner failure that ethnicity, morality, and religiosity are incompetent to quiet. There is only one possible way to be right with God: the gospel of Jesus Christ, which promises that on the basis of Christ and Him crucified a sinner can be justified by faith alone. This was the clarion of the Protestant Reformation, and it is at the heart of the good news that rejoices every guilty soul awakened to it.
