The church is beloved as the bride of Christ, who nourishes and cherishes her as His own body (Ephesians 5:29). Christ loves His bride and calls us to join Him in that love, which nourishes and cherishes her. And this is overtly practical. It is immediately connected to the health and growth of His church. Growth is not measured in size but in similarity to Christ. While Christ gives her life and all that she needs for it, here we are reminded that we are all responsible to steward the gifts that He gives to build her up in love. This sermon seeks to help us minister to one another effectively, for the glory of Christ and the gladness of His bride, the church.
