The sermon seeks to exposit, in summary fashion, the contextual beauty of this golden passage. Rather than dissecting this most treasured of written prayers, we will seek to understand the whole as it is situated in its context. Christ's model for prayer is thoroughly God-centered, calling for a rich and profound understanding of prayer itself. In this way, the message will seek to touch on the theology of prayer with an aim to enlarge our hearts and incite our affections to pray more earnestly. While Christ's teaching presents the most sublime set of words on prayer, they are not without very clear and direct application. From His model, we will consider several practical principles to help grow us in our communication and communion with the Father. This is a wonderfully blessed passage, deserving of our most careful stewardship.
