The Rock of Redemption
Christ has just been condemned to death. Now His lead disciple, Peter, dreadfully denies Him three times. It is a most sobering scene filled with paradox. Peter, who is supposed to be a “rock,” fails, falls, and fades into the darkness weeping. Yet in the midst of tragic failure there is still fulfillment. Even in this otherwise empty darkness light shines. Even in dramatic absence, the true rock of redemption is depicted.
