Only One Lord

There is only one Lord. Jesus is Lord. He is not a false prophet. He is the narrow gate. He is not advocating a different law. The Father and the Son are one. Words and works—however sound and spectacular—are not the grounds of entrance into the kingdom of heaven. Apart from a personal relationship with Christ, no quantity or quality of words or works count for any gain. There is only one way and only one gospel, which is fulfilled in Christ alone. To know Him, or rather be known by Him, is to be transformed in heart. Only transformed hearts that trust in Jesus for their righteousness will enter the kingdom of heaven. Many will acknowledge Jesus as Lord with their lips while serving themselves as lord in their hearts. No one else is Lord—there is only one Lord: Jesus.
