Job

Light for Life: Exploring God-breathed Glory

An ancient masterpiece of literature, the Book of Job presents the most intense dramatic poetry of the sacred wisdom writings. It is most well-known for the suffering of Job. But suffering itself is not its central theme. The focus of the book is on what Job learns from his suffering. The wisdom that this book teaches is that God is worthy of trust in all circumstances. It also addresses the age-old question of the relationship between sin and suffering. The book demonstrates that suffering is not always associated with sin and may be ordained by God for a greater glory and good not yet realized.
