Detractor of Praise: Culpability
God’s predestination of sinners is for God’s praise. But many pose the argument: If God is sovereign, as in predestination, then how can I be held responsible? This sermon seeks to address that argument. The biblical principle that God’s sovereignty rules in and through the choices of people is expounded. Man is culpable for his cravings. We make real choices with real consequences. We alone are responsible for our rebellion, not God. And God alone is responsible for our salvation, not us. Understanding these twin truths helps to clear misconceptions and thereby promote greater praise to God.
