Man’s Will: Free or Fettered
The true controversy of predestination has to do with the human will. Man starts with himself and in perceiving himself free to choose whatever he wills, has great difficulty with the idea that God’s will is sovereign over his own. Free will, or autonomy, is a most basic assumption. But the biblical revelation of God and His will is often not given adequate consideration in the discussion. Before one can rightly understand divine election, one must rightly understand the relationship between the will of man and the will of God. This session serves as an introduction to the compatibility of divine sovereignty and human responsibility.
