God makes much of His love. His love glorifies Christ and brings unending joy to the undeserving. But unless God’s love prevails over all deadness of heart and active opposition, then God’s love is reduced to a divine longing contingent on human interest. The Bible paints a different picture. In this session, we consider each instance in the New Testament where the Greek word translated “predestined” occurs. The message is resoundingly clear. God not only initiates salvation He sovereignly prevails to bring the redeemed to experience the full completion of His love. Only when we see the biblical emphasis on love do we begin to get at the heart of predestination.
