The Joy of Our Salvation
Gentile Christian refugees, falsely accused by Nero and forced to flee Rome for their lives are reminded by Peter their true citizenship is neither ethnic nor political. Though they will experience trials and grief in this life, the apostle Peter assures these outcasts their citizenship, their possession, their inheritance is kept in heaven and is imperishable, undefiled and unfading. Although they will experience trials in this life, Peter reminds them of their hope in Christ and the joy of their salvation that cannot be taken from them.
